Bishop’s Visit- Bishop Muench along with Fr. Matt Lorain, Director of Vocations, Fr. Matt Dupre’, SES alumnus, Fr. Andrew Merrick, and a group of Sisters of Mount Carmel, Sr. Francesca, SES alumnus, Sr. Dennis, Sr. Barbara Nell, Sr. Donna, and Sr. Alice met with the children to discuss vocations after a beautiful mass celebrated by the bishop. The children enjoyed the presentations and had great questions for the visitors. The children are to be commended for their participation in mass, small group, and whole class visits.

Parent-Teacher Conferences – Wednesday, February 29. Children will not attend school this day. Parents will be notified by teachers who would like to meet. Any parent who would like to meet should send a note to the child’s teacher . Conferences will focus on areas of concern. Meetings will be held in the morning so that teachers may participate in professional development in the afternoon.
Community Softball League is now taking registrations for the 2012 Softball Season. There are teams for ages 3 to 23, boys & girls. If you are interested in having your child participate please contact the office or Christy Prejean @ 985-518-2295.
SES Athletics- Boys Basketball: Please return clean uniforms to the office (7th and 8th grade teams only). 5th and 6th grade teams keep their uniforms.
Baseball: Jerseys and caps were handed out today to the boys. Please submit $15.00 to the office for their jerseys and caps. If anyone (parents/coaches/supporters) would like to buy a jersey ($15) or cap ($10) to support the team, contact the office with sizes or Legends in Donaldsonville.

Adult Lip Sync – Thanks to everyone who helped in any way to make the event so successful. It was great to see so many generations together having fun in our beautiful new Community Center. Special thanks to Ms. Liz George and Ms. Darlene Landry who chaired the night along with the performers including many of the SES faculty members, our students who served, parents who worked and everyone who supported by their attendance!
Mother Seton Award- We would like to announce Ms. Yvette LeBlanc as the recepient of the 2011-2012 Mother Seton Award. Thank you for your many years of dedicated service as Home and School Officer, School Board Officer, SES Fair Sweet Booth Chairperson, Class Room Mother and numerous other activities that you have been involved in. Congratulations and Thank You for your dedication to St. Elizabeth School!
Drama Practice- Monday, February 13, Tuesday, February 14, Wednesday, February 15, Wednesday, February 22 and Thursday, February 23. All Practices are 2-4. Cast Members who are renting costumes must send $20.00 to the office for the rental fee. Those students who did not receive their costumes on Friday will get them on Tuesday. All Kindergarten and 1st grades who are participating will be sent costumes as soon as they are completed. You are not required to buy anything except petals to decorate flowers(girls). Cards for the boys will be provided by the drama club.
New Family Registration – February 13-17.
Deadline for Regular Registration – Friday, February 17. After this date a $50 late fee per child will be assessed.
Muscular Dystrophy Shamrock Sale- will begin on Wednesday, February 15. The 4-H members will be selling shamrocks. Students will be allowed to buy shamrocks at recess to put their names on and will be displayed in the office. Green Shamrocks are $1.00 and Gold Shamrocks are $5.00.
Golf Tournament- There will be a meeting on Wednesday, February 15 at 6:30pm at Bayouside Golf Course for all parents who are assigned to work the Golf Tournament as their fundraiser.

First in Math Results (as of January 30)- St. Elizabeth is ranked 3rd in the State and 2nd in the diocese for First in Math. Keep up the great work!

Catholic Schools Week- January 29-February 3. Students are asked to bring hygiene items to schools to be presented at the Catholic Schools Week Mass on Friday, February 3. St. Elizabeth School is asked to bring toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, soap, deodorant, shaving cream, first aid supplies. Please bring these items to school by Tuesday, January 31.
Catholic Schools Week Activities: Monday, January 30: Students will begin Catholic Schools Week Prayer and will be working on a gift for their parents.
Tuesday, January 31: Students will have an extra recess from 11:45-12:25, during this time we are asking for Parent Volunteers to watch the children while the Teachers/Staff enjoy an Appreciation Luncheon.
Wednesday, February 1: Dress Down for Catholic Schools Week. Students are encouraged to wear Green, Red and Purple. Regular dress down rules apply. Students may wear a spirit shirt or uniform shirt in lieu of green, red or purple.

Mandatory Volleyball Registration Night: Friday, February 10th from 6 – 7 pm in the old gym. At least one parent/ guardian is required to be at registration. All forms (including physical form) & fees need to be submitted that night prior to receiving jersey. Forms were sent home last week. 6th & 7th graders can disregard the last page of the forms (CYO Individual Registration Form). The wrong one was sent home. You will be provided with the correct one on Registration Night. It is the same form with the correct info at the top. There will be a short meeting at the end to discuss plans for the season.
Baseball:
Please submit all forms & fees by Friday, February 3rd. There are two more forms that will be sent home when we receive from the league.

Diocesan Quiz Bowl- February 4 at St. Aloyisus 8:00 am-1:00 pm. Family and friends are invited to attend.
Science Fair- February 6 – Projects may be set up beginning at 6:45 in the old gym and picked up by 5:30.
SES In-House Registration – February 6-10.

Spirit Dress Down Day- Wednesday, February 8. Students may wear a spirit shirt with jeans or uniform shorts or pants. Please see the handbook for dress down day guidelines.

VOLUNTEERS for Adult Lip Sync – We are looking for volunteers to help out at the Adult Lip Sync on Saturday, February 11th. If any parents are willing to help with concession, at the door, behind the scenes, or in any way that night please contact the office. Planning for the BIG EVENT is going great, and it is sure to be an entertaining night!!!

Ash Wednesday -February 22. Everyone is invited to attend mass and receive ashes at 7:35 mass.
Bishop’s Visit – Bishop Muench will celebrate mass and visit with the student body, faculty, and staff of SES on Friday, February 24. Everyone is invited to join us for mass.
Parent-Teacher Conferences – Wednesday, February 29. Children will not attend school this day. Parents will be given the opportunity to sign up for conferences.
