			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week &#8211; </strong>Thank you all for all of the gestures of appreciation shown to our SES Faculty and Staff.  From flowers to food and kind words &#8211; they all mean so much!  Thanks for entrusting your precious children to us!</p>
<p><strong>Lip Sync &#8211; </strong>Thanks to everyone who helped to make Lip Sync a great evening of entertainment &#8211; Ms. Ali, emcee, Ms. Tina and the Beta club parents for refreshments, performers and a great audience!</p>
<p><strong>AR Spring Field Trip &#8211; Books, Burgers and Bingo! &#8211; </strong>Congratulations to those students who met or exceeded their goals for AR for the 2nd semester.  43 Students were treated to a trip to the Assumption Parish Library in Napoleonville, lunch at LaMex, and an afternoon of bingo!  Keep reading!!!</p>
<p><strong>Volunteer Appreciation Mass and Breakfast &#8211; </strong>In thanksgiving for all our parent volunteers do for SES they will be recognized at 7:35 mass on Tuesday, May 15 and treated to a breakfast in the Community Center afterwards.  Please make plans to attend.</p>
<p><strong>First In Math Recognition &#8211; </strong>Representatives from First in Math along with Superintendent Melanie Verges will be at SES on Wednesday, May 16 at 12:30 p.m. in the  Community Center to recognize students in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grades for their outstanding performance in the program.  SES is ranked 68th in the United States, 4th in the state of Louisana, and 2nd in the Diocese of Baton Rouge!  Teams and individuals will be recognized.  Everyone is invited to attend.</p>
<p><strong>Snack Sales &#8211; </strong>Thursday, May 17 will be a day for students to redeem their birthday snack coupons.  There will be a snack sale on Friday and Monday if snacks remain.</p>
<p><strong>Math-a-thon news- </strong>The Students and families of S.E.S. have come to the aid of those in need, once again. Twenty-five of our students in grades 1 through 6 worked math  problems to raise money for St.Jude Children&#8217;s Hospital. We are proud to  announce that these student raised $1,104 for the children of St. Jude. It is wonderful to see our students living their faith by giving to those in need of our help. Thank you students and parents for a job well done. Awards earned by the students will be given out this week.</p>
<p><strong>SES Annual Community Birthday Calendar</strong> –A longstanding tradition at SES, this calendar is a great item to share with anyone. The calendars list birthdays, anniversaries and memorials for your family and friends. Order forms were sent for our 58<sup>th </sup>issue! If anyone is in need of additional forms or would like last year’s listing report, please contact the office or Vicky LeBlanc at (985) 513-2086. Thank you for your continued support of St. Elizabeth School!</p>
<p><strong>Domino&#8217;s Pizza Night</strong>- Domino&#8217;s Pizza in Donaldsonville will donate 20% of all orders placed on Mondays to St. Elizabeth School. Just mention St. Elizabeth School when ordering . A big thanks to all who have been ordering Domino&#8217;s Pizza to support our school.  St. Elizabeth School earned $145.00 from the first two weeks of fundraising.  Keep up the good work!!!</p>
<p><strong>Cafeteria Refunds</strong>- You may request a refund from the cafeteria. You must go the <a href="http://www.cnpbr.org">www.cnpbr.org</a> to request a refund. The refund Request Form will be located under the &#8220;Forms&#8221; tab. This information will only be available thought the website this year. Refunds will be processed at the end of the school year.</p>
<p><strong>Scrip-</strong>  Orders for the week of May 21 must be in on Monday, May 21 by 9am and picked up in the office on Thursday, May 24 by noon.  This will be the last order to recieve credit for the 2012-13 school year.</p>
<p><strong>AR Testing Deadlines -</strong> The last day to test for Reading grade is May 17 for 8th graders and May 22 for all other students.</p>

<p><strong>Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week- </strong>“Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.” ~ <a href="http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/838305.Mother_Teresa">Mother Teresa</a>  This week is Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week.  A flyer was sent home last week with suggested activities for us to show our appreciation and support to our teachers and staff, who do countless things with great love for our children.  They play a vital role in the nurturing of our children’s minds and spirits. We will be hosting a “sit down” lunch for our teachers and staff on Thursday, May 10<sup>th</sup> and need your help!  If you are able to assist this day, please call Ghiselle Brown at 985-397-1500 or Vicky LeBlanc at 985-513-2087.</p>

<p><strong>Spirit Dress Down Day &#8211; </strong>Wednesday, May 9. Students may wear a school spirit shirt or uniform shirt and jeans or uniform shorts and shoes. Jeans must be worn at the waist and may not have holes. Please see the SES student handbook for complete dress down day guidelines.</p>
<p><strong>AR Testing Deadlines &#8211; </strong>The last day for testing for all students to attend the field trip is Thursday, May 10. The last day to test for Reading grade is May 17 for 8th graders and May 22 for all other students.</p>

At least one parent representative per class must be at the school practice. PreK 3 students will practice first and the rest of the groups will follow in grade order. If your child is in PreK 3 -7th grades, they will be sent to aftercare immediately following their act or picked up from the Community Center by 4:00 pm. Each act will perform their act once.</p>

<p><strong>Fun Run &#8211; </strong>Sunday, May 6. You may return your applications to school.</p>
<p><strong>Golf Carts</strong>- If anyone has a golf cart that we can borrow for the use at the fair please call the office.</p>
<p><strong>Sweets- </strong>Forms were sent home today listing sweet requests for each class.  Sweets may be brought to the sweet booth on the morning of the fair.  If you would like to donate ingredients to be used to make sweets you may bring  them to the office this week.</p>
<p><strong>Fair Raffle Prize -  </strong>The children of the 3 top selling families will be treated to a Limo ride provided by Maurice Southall of Williams and Southall  and lunch at the Bayouside Golf Course courtesy of Neil Dugas. Again, this year we will raffle a limo ride and lunch at the Golf Course in Napoleonville for the children of 3 additional families selling extra tickets. One entry will be given for each additional book sold.</p>

<p><strong>May Crowning &#8211; </strong>May 1st . Students are asked to bring fresh garden flowers to present to the Blessed Mother.  Students will process from the old gym beginning at 7:30 am into church.</p>
<p><strong>Beta Convention</strong>- May 3 &amp; 4.  Students must wear 2012 Beta Competition Shirt Thursday and a School Spirit Shirt on Friday.  Students need to bring a bag lunch both days.  Permission slips were sent home with students today.  Please sign and return to school tomorrow.</p>

<p><strong>Teacher Appreciation Week- </strong>Staff Appreciation Week will be celebrated during the week of May 7<sup>th</sup> through May 11<sup>th</sup> 2012.  This year’s theme is “A Garden of Thanks for Growing and Grooming the minds of our Future”   A flyer will be going home today with your child.  Parents if you would like to bring breakfast, finger foods, desserts, drinks, paper items during this week please feel free to do so.  On <span style="text-decoration: underline">Thursday, May, 10<sup>th</sup>, 2012 </span>we are planning a sit down meal.<br />
Volunteers are welcomed in any way to assist.  If you would like to sign up to help or bring parts of the lunch for the staff, please call Ghiselle at (985) 397-1500 or Vicky at (985) 513-2086. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>SES 4th Annual Memorial Golf Tournament- </strong>Thanks to everyone who came out to  support SES for the Golf Tournament on Saturday.  It was a huge success.  Special thanks to chairpersons Travis Daigle and Lana Alleman.</p>
<p><strong>Domino&#8217;s Pizza Night</strong>- Domino&#8217;s Pizza in Donaldsonville will donate 20% of all orders placed on Mondays to St. Elizabeth School.  Just mention St. Elizabeth School when ordering .</p>
<p><strong>No Masses this Week &#8211; </strong>Fr. Andrew is out of town this week, so there will be no masses on Tuesday, April 17 or Friday, April 20.</p>

<p><strong>Fair Raffle</strong>- Each family is expected to sell 30 raffle tickets for our school fair.  Additional tickets can be requested through the office.  Ticket stubs and money are due in the office on Monday, April 30, 2012.  The children of the 3 top selling families will automatically win a limo ride and lunch at the golf course in Napoleonville.  Again, this year we will raffle a limo ride and lunch at the Golf Course in Napoleonville for the children of 3 additional families selling extra tickets.  One entry will be given for each additional book sold.</p>
<p><strong>Fun Run -  </strong>Sunday, May 6.  Applications are due before April 30 for early registration.</p>
<p><strong>Cafeteria Refunds</strong>- You may request a refund from the cafeteria. You must go the <a href="http://www.cnpbr.org">www.cnpbr.org</a> to request a refund. The refund Request Form will be located under the &#8220;Forms&#8221; tab. This information will only be available thought the website this year. <p><strong>Children&#8217;s Lip Sync -</strong>May 11.  Lip Sync practice will be held immediately after school in the Community Center on Wednesday, May 9 for PreK3 -7th grades.  At least one parent representative per class must be at the school practice.  PreK 3 students will perform first and the rest of the groups will follow in grade order.  If your child is in PreK 3 -7th grades, they will be sent to aftercare immediately following their act or picked up from the Community Center by 4:00 pm.  Each act will perform their act once.</p>

<p><strong>MDA</strong>- Thanks to everyone who participated in and purchased shamrocks for the MDA fundraiser.  We raised $486.00 which exceeded our goal!!!</p>

<p><strong>Absences</strong>- Please remember to call the office if your child is absent from school.</p>
<p><strong>Drama Practice- </strong>There will be practice every day this week, March 26-30. The K &amp; 1st grade students who are participating in the play are required to stay Tuesday, Wednesday, &amp; Thursday March 27 -29. All practices end at 4pm. Students can be picked up in front of the Community Center.</p>
<p><strong>Drama News-</strong> Please pay the $20.00 rental fee for your costume if you have not already done so. Please call Ms. Diane at 985-414-1007 if you do not have your costume yet. All students in K and 1st who do not have costumes yet will receive them this week. All flowers must make their own head pieces. Card soldiers will be given their cards the night of the play.  Flowers and card soldiers make-up will be applied when they arrive for pictures.  All other cast members must report for pictures in full make-up. Yearbook pictures will be taken at 5:30 on play night in the office.  Mr. Ric Rousseau will film our presentation on Saturday. DVD&#8217;s may be purchased for $30.00. You may begin reserving your DVD this week by sending your check to the office marked &#8220;Drama Play.&#8221; We are in need of volunteers to work concessions for the play Saturday night. Please contact Chantelle Gros if you are available to work.</p>
<p><strong><strong>Lip Sync</strong>- </strong>Participation slips that were attached to the Lip Sync letter passed out last week are due to the office by Monday, April 2nd.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Lip Sync</strong>- Participation slips that were attached to the Lip Sync letter passed out last week are due to the office by Monday, April 2nd.</p>
<p><strong>Golf Tournament-</strong> Meeting  Thursday, March 22 at 6:30pm at Bayouside Golf Course.  All Parents who are scheduled to work the Golf Tournament are asked to attend this meeting.</p>

<p><strong>Drama Practice-</strong>Tuesday, March 20, Wednesday, March 21 and Thursday, March 22.  All Practices are from 2:00-4:00.  There will be practice everyday next week March 26-30.    The K &amp; 1st grade students who are participating in the play are required to stay Tuesday, Wednesday, &amp; Thursday March 27 -29.  All practices end at 4pm.  Students can be picked up in front of the Community Center.</p>
<p><strong>Drama News-</strong> Please pay the $20.00 rental fee for your costume if you have not already done so.  Please call Ms. Diane at 985-414-1007 if you do not have your costume yet.  All students in K and 1st who do not have costumes yet will receive them by next week.  All flowers must make their own head pieces.  Card soldiers will be given their cards the night of the play.  Yearbook pictures will be taken at 5:30 on play night. (More information will follow next week.)  Mr. Ric Rousseau will film our presentation on Saturday. DVD&#8217;s may be purchased for $30.00.  You may begin reserving your DVD next week by sending your check to the office  marked &#8220;Drama Play.&#8221;  We are in need of volunteers to work concessions for the play Saturday night.  Please contact Chantelle Gros if you are available to work.</p>
<p><strong>Fair Sign-up- </strong>Parents will be able to sign up for fair shifts in the office during the week of March 19-23.  If you do not sign up for a shift you will be assigned to a shift and be notified by the office or booth chairperson.</p>

Please check work schedule. When you are scheduled to work, please be at the community center by at least 5:30. All door/concession workers are to work the entire night, including set up &amp; clean up after the last game.</p>
<p>Zebra print socks are available to interested volleyball players.  They will be in by Wednesday.  They are $8. Please send your money in an envelope labeled volleyball socks by Wednesday.</p>

<p><strong>Drama Practice-</strong>Monday, March 12, Tuesday, March 13, and Thursday, March 15.  All Practices are until 4:00.  Order forms for Drama play t-shirts were sent home today.  These shirts are being offered to students who are participating in the drama play.  If you are interested in ordering please send the order form back by Wednesday, March 14.</p>
<p><strong>Blessed Theresa Display -</strong>The Missionaries of Charity have shared with us a display of 78 panels depicting the life of Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta.  The panels will chronicle the life of Blessed Teresa from her birth to her death.  Mother was born Gonxha (Agnes) Bojaxhiu in Skopje, Yugoslavia, on August 27, 1910.  At. 18, she chose the Loreto Sisters of Dublin, missionaries and educators founded in the 17th century to educate young girls.  Mother Teresa had a &#8220;second calling&#8221; on a train to Darjeeling for a retreat in 1946.  The Missionaries of Charity was born from this &#8220;second calling&#8221;.  The display shows how her family life inspired her to be a religious.  Mother died on September 5, 1997.  Everyone will be invited to share in this wonderful experience.  Details about viewing will be passed on when the panels arrive.</p>

<p><strong>Pee Wee &#8211; </strong>Congratulations to Team “Kronik” for pulling out the victory at the Pee Wee Basketball Tournament Friday! A very special thanks to all the parents and faculty members who helped make the night a huge success! None of it would have been possible without your ongoing support!  The proceeds from &#8220;Pee Wee&#8221; go toward the annual 8th grade field trip to New Orleans.</p>
