First in Math- Congratulations to 3rd grade in 2nd place, 4th in 8th place, and 5th in 9th place in the diocese!
Cold Weather Wear- Long sleeve sweaters with zipper or buttons, sweatshirts, wind breakers should be solid navy blue or white with the exception of articles purchased through SES. Navy Uniform windbreakers can be purchased at uniform stores, Academy and Walmart. The “Charles River” style is preferred. Student initials in block letters ½” or less in size may be worn on jackets for identification purposes.
SES Athletics- Girls Basketball- Tuesday, October 4 at St. Alphonsus 6th grade at 6pm; 8th grade at 6:45.
Harvey Rabbit- performance on October 4 at 9:30 am. Parents and friends are invited to attend.
National 4-H Club News- Green Dress Down Day Wednesday, October 5. Students may wear a green shirt and jeans or school shorts. Please refer to the handbook for dress down day guidelines.
1st Friday – Sodality uniforms must be worn on Friday, October 7

1st 9 Weeks Exams- October 7-Social Studies & English, October 11- Math & Religion, & October 12- Science & Reading.
Farmers’ Mass- The St. Elizabeth Church Festival will begin with a special Mass honoring our area’s outstanding farmers and the farming industry professionals as they participate in the 2011 harvest. The 7:30am Mass will be celebrated in St. Elizabeth Church on Friday, October 7 by Father Andrew Merrick, and will feature the St. Elizabeth Children’s Choir. Farmers will receive special invitations, but all are invited to join us in prayer for the “Blessing of the Crop” Community Mass for the 2011 Grinding Season. Then on Sunday, October 9, we will gather at 9:30am for the Harvest Festival Tractor Parade to kick off our day of fun and great food.
St. Elizabeth Harvest Festival- Sunday, October 9.

AR Testing – Ends Wednesday, October 12 for the 1st 9 weeks and begins on Thursday, October 13 for the 2nd 9 weeks.
Raising Canes-SES Student Council is sponsoring St. Elizabeth School night at Raising Cane’s in Thibodaux to help raise money for a scoreboard for the new gym. Please join in the fun. SES Cheerleaders and Cubby will be there. There will be music, activities, and prizes! Mention SES and we receive 15% of the sales from dine in, carry out, and drive-through orders between 3 and 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12. This will be a “NO HOMEWORK NIGHT” for all students! World’s Finest Chocolate Sale- Begins October 17 and ends November 11.
1st 9 weeks Report Cards- will be issued October 18.
SIT Committee Meeting – October 18 at 6:30 p.m.
3rd Grade Parent Breakfast- Wednesday, October 19 beginning at 7am. Parents are invited to stay for morning prayer in the Prayer Garden.
SES Spirit Dress Down Day- Wednesday, October 19. Students may wear a spirit shirt of unioform shirt with jeans or uniform shorts and uniform socks and shoes. Jeans must be worn at the waist and may not have holes. Please see the SES Students Handbook for complete dress down day guidelines.
Fall Book Fair- October 24-28.
Red Ribbon Week- October 24-28. Please note the activities that will take place during Red Ribbon Week: Monday-Red shirt and jeans; Tuesday-”Kick drugs to the curb” Free tennis shoe day (other than school shoes) ; Wednesday- “sock it to drugs” Crazy socks or red sock day with regular uniform; Thursday- “team up against drugs” Team jersey with regular uniform pants/shorts and shoes; Friday- “put a cap on drugs” caps can be worn at recess.
SES Cub Fest- Formally the SES Harvest Festival, will be held on October 28. If you would like to volunteer your time for the students please call the office or Ghiselle Brown at 985-397-1500.
NET Retreat – Sunday, October 30 for 8th graders. 9:00-1:00 at St. Joseph the Worker in Pierre Part.
