Book Fair – Thanks to everyone who helped to make the SES Fall Book Fair such a success.
SES Cub Fest – Despite the weather, the Cub Fest was wonderful! Thanks to Home & School and all the volunteers who helped to provide the children with an afternoon of fun.
Home & School- Thanks to everyone who helped plan and work games, face painting, sweets, craft booths and the hay ride for the SES Cub Fest. A big thanks to everyone who sent sweets, the students truly enjoyed them. A special thanks to Raising Canes for donating the lemonade and cups. Also, thanks to all businesses that donated goods to make the day a success. Everyone had a great time.
St. Elizabeth Community Center – Thanks to our dedicated parents who installed the new scoreboard and moved bleachers into the building. The girls will play their final home game of the season in the new gym!
Playground Structure – Thank you! With the generous donations from our Beta Club and H&S, the play structure has been ordered and should arrive by the end of the year! You can view a picture of the structure that has been ordered at the following link: st_elizabeth_customer_colors
SES Beta Pack-A-Sack- Students were sent home today with a paper sack for each family to fill with non-perishable food items that will be donated to the St. Elizabeth Food Pantry. These goods will be distributed to needy families throughout the Holiday Season. Please see the flyer that was sent home today for additional information.
SES Athletics- Girls Basketball: Wednesday, November 2 Home game vs. Redemptorist 6th grade at 6:00pm; 8th grade at 6:45. Friday, November 4 at Holy Family vs. St. Alphonsus 6th Grade at 6:00pm; 8th Grade at 6:45pm.
Parents Provide Transportation- Wednesday, November 2. There will be no bus transportation. Aftercare will be provided.
Sports Pictures & Individual Picture Retakes- Wednesday, November 2. Sports Pictures will be taken after school. All children must bring their uniforms to school to change into after school. Students must be picked up at 3:00. If your child is to attend aftercare, please send a note to school. If you would like for your child to retake their individual picture, you must send the original picture package back to school on November 2.
SIT Committee Meeting- Scheduled for November 3 at 6:45pm.
1st Friday – November 4. Sodality uniforms are to be worn.

Spirit Dress Down Day- Wednesday, November 9. Students may wear a school spirit shirt or uniform shirt and jeans or uniform shorts and uniform socks and shoes. Jeans must be worn at the waist and may not have holes. Please see the SES student handbook for complete dress down day guidelines.

Veteran’s Day Program- Friday, November 11. SES will honor our veterans at a special Mass. Veterans and their families will process before Mass begins to their reserved seats in the front of church. We would like to have veterans and their families serve as servers, lectures, choir and bring up gifts. At the end of Mass, Fr. Andrew will give a special blessing to veterans. We will all sing, “God bless America” to conclude. We would like to have veterans meet in the SES gym no later than 7:15am, Friday, November 11 to meet their families and form a procession to church. If you know anyone who is a veteran & serve as a lector, please call the office as soon as possible.
Beta Cake sale – The Beta Club will sponsor a bake sale at weekend masses at St. Elizabeth and St. Jules on the weekend of November 12 & 13 to raise funds for the purchase of bedding materials and plants to complete the flower garden in front of the office building. This flower garden will be dedicated in memory of Andrew A.J. Frey. If anyone is interested in helping out in any way, please contact the school office.
School Board Meeting – Monday, November 14 at 6:45 in the school office. Everyone is invited to attend.
Progress Reports – Wednesday, November 16.
Student of the Year Interviews- 5th Grade interviews will take place on Wednesday,November 16 after school and 8th Grade interviews will take place on Thursday, November 17 after school.
Grandparents Day- November 18.
Thanksgiving Holidays – No school from November 21-25. Classes resume on Monday, November 28.

Red Ribbon Week- October 24-28. Please note the activities that will take place during Red Ribbon Week. Monday- Red shirt and jeans; Tuesday-”Kick drugs to the curb” free tennis shoe day(other than school shoes); Wednesday- “Sock it to drugs” Crazy socks or red sock day with regular uniforms; Thursday- “Team up against drugs” Team jersey with regular uniform pants/shorts; Friday-”Put a cap on drugs” caps may be worn at recess.

3. Judges will be looking for most original, funniest, prettiest, and age appropriateness for each category.
4. Competing categories are as follows:
Pre-K3 to Pre-K
Kn to 1st
2nd to 4th
5th to 8th
This year we are pleased to announce that there will also be two new competing categories:
Groups (consisting of 2 students including related students) and/or
Family (consisting of 1 or more persons; mom, dad, aunt, uncle, grandma, grandpa)
5. Please pick-up your pumpkin by the end of the day Friday, October 28, 2011.
6. Full name, age and grade, category must be on the back of the entry.

Flower Beds – The area in front of the office building will be converted into a flower garden dedicated in memory of Andrew A.J. Frey. Ms. April Hebert of Landscape by April is donating her labor to construct the beds. Mr. Frank Marcello of Marcello Distributors has donated an angel statue and plaque in memory of A.J. Raising Cane’s Fundraiser- Thank you to everyone who came out and supported SES for the fundraiser. Everyone had a great time and we raised $435.74 to put toward a new scoreboard for the gym!!! We also received $44.00 in donations! Special thanks to Student Council and our Cheerleaders along with sponsors Ms. Nadine and Ms. Brandy.

Quiz Bowl T-shirts- The deadline to order Quiz bowl T-shirts is Wednesday, October 12. Order forms were sent home last week with Quiz Bowl members.
AR Testing- Ends Wednesday, October 12 for the 1st 9 weeks and begins on Thursday, October 13 for the 2nd 9 weeks.
Raising Cane’s- SES Student Council is sponsoring St. Elizabeth School night at Raising Cane’s in Thibodaux to help raise money for a scoreboard for the new gym. Please join in the fun. SES Cheerleaders and Cubby will be there. There will be music, activities, and prizes! Mention SES and we receive 15% of the sales from dine in, carry out, and drive-through orders between 3 and 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12. This will be a “NO HOMEWORK NIGHT” for all Students!! Please forward to family and friends. Everyone is invited. See you there!!!
