New Parent Orientation – Wednesday, August 3 at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria.  New parents to SES are encouraged to attend.

PreK3- 2nd Grade Open House – Wednesday, August 3 following the New Parent Orientation.  Please meet in the cafeteria at 7 p.m. and plan to move to the classrooms after the general assembly.

3rd – 8th Grade Open House – Monday, August 15.

1st Day of Attendance for PreK3-K – Letters indicating the children’s order of attendance for the first week of school will be sent out this week.  Please call the office if you do not receive this information by August 1.

1st Day of School for 1st – 8th Grades – The 2011-2012 school session begins on Wednesday, August 10.  School hours remain the same – 7:30 a.m. – 2:05 p.m.  Please make sure students are on time for school.  Students are not allowed to check out early after 1:45 p.m.

Dress Code Reminders – Please check the dress code sent to you with report cards or the handbook link posted on the website for the changes for the 2011-2012 session.

SES Crest For Boys – The crest will be mandatory on boys shirts beginning this school year.  These are available at Legend’s and Jake’s as iron-ons aor can be  embroidered at Threads on the Bayou.  Iron-on patches are also available through the SES office and at the SES Swap Shop.

School Shoes – Please remember that shoes should be solid white for girls and solid black for boys.  PreK3 and PreK students must have velcro shoes.

P.E. Uniforms – P.E. uniforms will be available as usual at Legend’s or can be ordered through Legend’s during the first week of school.  This year Legend’s will provide order forms from which P.E. uniforms can be ordered and delivered to the children at school.

Swap Shop – Swap Shop will be held again on Saturday, July 30.  Thank you Ms. Tiffany Cernuska for your dedication to this wonderful service to our parents!

Financial Aid Applications – Applications for tuition assistance will be available from August 10-17.  Please send a request in writing if you need an application.  All applications will be due by Friday, August 19.  In order to be considered for assistance, families must also complete the free and reduced lunch application.

Summer Reading  – Students are reminded of the summer reading assignments for grades 4-8.  Reading is to be completed by the opening of school.

New Administrator Assigned to St. Elizabeth and St. Jules Church Parishes

Bishop Muench has assigned Father Andrew Merrick as the administrator of St. Elizabeth and St. Jules Church Parishes effective August 6, 2011.  Please keep him in your prayers as he prepares for his new assignment.  We look forward to welcoming him into our community.  We should also remember Father Alec Sheldon who will be going on medical leave.

Funeral Arrangements for Danny Sanchez

Mr. Sanchez will be waked on Friday from 6:00p.m. -10:00p.m. and Saturay from 8:00a.m. to 9:30a.m. at Landry’s Funeral Home in Napoleonville. Funeral will be at St. Elizabeth Church at 10:00a.m. on Saturday.  Students who attend are urged to wear their school uniforms.
