First Communion- 2nd Graders who are preparing to receive First Communion at St. Elizabeth Church: First communion will be on June 26 at 10:45 mass.  Parents, please remember that you also share the responsibility and privilege of evangelizing your children and it is very important that you take the children to church on Sundays and other Holy Days to make them understand the importance of the Sacrament they will be receiving.

SES Annual Community Birthday Calendar- A longstanding tradition at SES. These calendars are a great item to share with family members!  The calendars list birthdays , anniversaries and memorials for your family and friends.  Order forms were sent home today for our 57th issue!  If anyone is in need of additional forms, please contact the office or Vicky LeBlanc at (985) 513-2086 or rvleblanc@charter.net

Field Day- Coach, Ms. Tiff, and Ms. Brandy would like to thank everyone who helped make Field Day the success that it was.  The students and faculty enjoyed the fun-filled day.  

Confetti Eggs- Pleases remember to save your eggs to make confetti eggs for the fair.  You can send these to the office.

SES Fair Signs- Yard signs to advertise our fair have begun to be distributed to the oldest child of each family.  Please display these in your yard to help promote our school fair.  

Snack Sale- There will be no snack sales during Lent.  Students are encouraged to donate snack sale money to those who are less fortunate.

Class Pictures- April 19. 

Prek3 Individual Pictures- April 19.  These will be used for the yearbook, so please dress students in school uniforms.

Beta- The meeting scheduled for Tuesday, April 19 has been postponed.  Parents, please make arrangements to pick up cookie dough on Wednesday, April 20 between 1:00-3:00pm. 

Girls & Boys Basketball Players- Uniforms must be turned in by Tuesday, April 19.  Please place your uniform in a large zip-lock bag and label it with your name and number.

SES Athletics- Volleyball Schedule- Tuesday, April 19- 5th Grade- Home vs. St. Theresa Blue at 6:00pm; 6th Grade Home vs. ACMS at 6:45; 8th Grade Home vs. ACMS at 7:45; Wednesday, April 20- 6th Grade- Away at St. George vs. Holy Family at 6:45; 8th Grade Away at St. George vs. Holy Family; Friday, April 29- 5th Grade- Away vs. Holy Family at 6:30.

 PreK Parent Breakfast- April 20 at 7:30.

Living Way of the Cross- Thursday, April 21 at 8:00am. Everyone is invited to attend.

Easter Holidays- April 22-April 29.

St. Elizabeth Softball Tournament- Saturday, April 30 at Labadieville Ball Park.  Please consider getting a team together and joining in the fun!

Sodality Meeting- Monday, May 2 until 3:00.

May Crowning- Tuesday, May 3 at 7:30 mass.

Scrip- Orders will resume on Tuesday, May 3 after the Easter Holidays.

Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week- As we all know our St. Elizabeth School teachers and staff play a vital role in molding our children who are the future.  If you are willing to help during Teacher and Staff Appreciation week which is May 2-May 6, 2011, please contact Ghiselle Brown at (985) 387-1500.  We are looking for individuals who are willing to donate their time to volunteer, individuals who can prepare food for the staff and also serve food  to the children for the cafeteria staff.  Your help and graciousness is greatly appreciated.

Fair Raffle Tickets- Raffle Tickets are due into the office on Friday, May 6.  If you need additional books please call or send a note to the office.

Adoration- Students will attend adoration on April 12 during their Religion classes.  Parents and relatives are invited to attend .  The schedule will be as follows: 8:00-8:30- 3rd Grade; 8:00-8:30 6th Grade; 8:45-9:15 7th Grade; 9:45-10:10 1st Grade; 11:45-12:10 2nd Grade; 12:40-1:10 4th Grade; 1:15-1:45 5th Grade.

SES Golf Tournament – Thanks to everyone who supported the golf tournament this weekend.  Special thanks to chairpersons, Travis Daigle and Lana Alleman!  Please contact the office if you would like to make a memorial donation in honor of a loved one.  All memorials will be placed on a permanent banner to be hung in the St. Elizabeth School Gym for many years to come.

2011 Mother Seton Recipient – Congratulations Ms. Scottie Brister.  Thanks to Ms. Scottie for her countless hours of service to St. Elizabeth School as Home & School officer, coach, substitute teacher and all the other things she does for SES.  She was recognized at the Diocesan Home & School luncheon on March 30.

Fair Meeting- Chair & Co-chair Meeting, Wednesday, April13 at 6:30 at SES.

Adult Lip Sync- Due to the PA system being broken and sent off for repairs,  adult lip sync will have to be cancelled this year.  Please save your ideas. We will re-schedule next school year.

Adoration- Students will attend adoration on April 12 during their Religion classes.  Parents and relatives are invited to attend.  The schedule will be as follows: 8:15-8:45-3rd Grade; 8:30-9:00 6th Grade; 9:15-9:45 7th Grade; 10:00-10:25 1st grade; 11:45-12:15 2nd Grade; 12:45-1:15 4th Grade; 1:15-1:45 5th Grade.

SES Drama- The St. Elizabeth School Drama club would like to thank everyone who helped our children make their presentation of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” the great success that it was.  Our students worked hard for 3 months, and their performances were excellent.  We would like to thank the many others who helped along the way with making costumes, decorating and gathering props, cooking jambalaya, working the concession stand, taking pictures, collecting at the door, and furnishing transportation and treats for the practices.  Our goal is to buy a new curtain for our new stage with Drama funds earned this year, and we are will on our way thanks to your support and generosity.  If anyone would like to make a donation toward the purchase of the curtain please send it to school in a labeled envelope.  God Bless you all for your services to our school and your support of the Arts!

Spelling Bee-Congratulations to all students who competed in the Spelling Bee.  Everyone did a great job.  The following students placed:  1st Grade- 1st  place Austin Thibodeaux, 2nd place Sage Rivere; 2nd Grade- 1st place Anna Thibodeaux, 2nd Place Mason Fernandez; 3rd Grade- 1st place Riley Barbier, 2nd place Cooper Mury; 4th grade – 1st place Hallie Aucoin, 2nd place Zane Blanchard.

Home & School News- The Home & School Association has been doing a wonderful job of  displaying banners with upcoming events for SES.  If you would like to purchase a banner to be displayed for the school please contact Scottie Brister at 985-369-9972. 

SES Athletics- Volleyball Schedule- Monday, April 4- Home vs. Holy Family-  6th Grade at 6:00; 8th Grade at 6:45. Friday, April 8th- Home  5th Grade vs. St. Theresa White at 6:00; 8th Grade vs. St. Theresa at 6:45.

Terra Nova Testing- April 4-8.  Please encourage your children to do their best.  Make sure that they are having a good night’s sleep, a good breakfast and that they are on time for school on the days of testing.  We have some fun activities planned for Friday afternoon to reward students for working hard all week.

Cub Camp Registration- April 4-8.  Detailed information and registration forms were sent home today.  Registration is due by Friday, April 8 so that we can make reservations for fieldtrips.

Mission Collection- Friday, April 8.  Students may bring money throughout the week to put in the containers in their classroom.

SES Golf  Tournament- April 9 at Bayouside Golf Course.  We have several types of sponsorships or memorials available.  All memorials will be placed on a permanent banner to be hung in the St. Elizabeth School Gym for many years to come.  Please contact Travis Daigle at (985)519-3184 or Lana Alleman at (225) 936-9799 for more information.

Uniform Committee – There will be a uniform committee meeting on Monday, April 11 to review the SES uniform policy.  We need a parent representative to sit on the committee. Please call the office if you would like to be considered for that position.
