Catholic Schools Week- The Catholic Schools Office is conducting a donation project during Catholic Schools Week. 

 St. Elizabeth students are asked to donate canned soup, chili, vienna sausages, ramen noodles or peanut butterDonations are due by Wednesday, February 2.  Thanks for your generosity.     

Red & Blue Dress Down Day-Wednesday, February2. Students can decorate a t-shirt at home with parents with the Catholic Schools Week Theme.  This shirt or a red or blue shirt may be worn with jeans and school shoes.

Cartridges for Kids- We recently received a check for $360.96 for ink cartridges and cell phones sent in.  Keep up the good work!!!

Drama Play Practice- Tuesday, February 1; Wednesday February 2 and Thursday February 3.  All practices are from 2:00 -4:00.

SES Athletics-Boys Basketball Wednesday, February 2 Home vs. Redemptorist 6th Grade at 6:45; 8th grade at 7:45. Parents scheduled to work Brad, Jonathan, Andre’ and Kelsey (please report at 6:00).  Thursday, February 3 6th Grade vs. St. Francs Xavier at St. Gabriel Community Center at 6:45; 8th grade vs. Catholic High at Catholic High School at 7:45. Saturday , February 5 Home vs. ACMS 6th Grade at 9:00am; 8th grade at 9:45am.  Parents scheduled to work Matthew M., Haylie, Susan and Stacy.

Volleyball packets went home with the girls who signed up today.  A volleyball clinic will be held on Monday, February 7 from 5:00-7:30pm.  A Parent meeting will follow.  Baseball packets went home with the boys who signed up today.  Please review the information and submit the forms  by the deadline.  More information regarding practice will come soon.

Progress Reports- February 9, 2011.

Fair  Meeting- There will be a meeting for Fair chairpersons and co-chairpersons on Wednesday, February 9 at 6:00pm at SES.  Anyone interested in chairing a booth for the fair, please contact the office or attend the scheduled meeting.

4th Grade Parent Breakfast- Wednesday, February 16, 2011.

Social Studies Fair- Thursday, February 17, 2011.

Registration- In- House Registration – February 14-18. New Family Registration- February 21-25.

AR Field Trip - February 22 for qualifying students.

Parent/Teacher Conferences – No school for students on February 23 for parent/teacher conferences.

3rd 9 weeks exams – March 1-3

Carnival – Friday, March 4 at 12:30 p.m.  Everyone is invited to attend.

St. Elizabeth Softball Tournament- The tournament has been scheduled for March 4th and 5th.  Please mark your calendars.  Contact Jayme Coddou or Kristie Besson for more information.

Mardi Gras Holidays – March 7-11.

Adult Lip Sync-  Adult Lip Sync has been rescheduled for Saturday, April 16.   Parents, friends and relatives are invited to participate!!!  Get your ideas together and call the office if you would like to participate.

Catholic Schools Week- January 30-February 5, 2011.  The theme for this year’s Catholic Schools Week is:  Catholic Schools, A+ for America.  Students may decorate a t-shirt at home with parents with the theme and this shirt may be worn on Blue and Red dress down day during Catholic Schools Week.  There will be different activities going on throughout the week.                                                                                                     

Please come as a family to help us celebrate Catholic Schools Week Mass together,  Sunday at 10:45 at St. Elizabeth Church.  It is mandatory for all 7th & 8th Grade Sodality Members to attend.

Beta Meeting- Monday, January 24 from 2:00-4:00.

School Board Meeting- Monday, January 24, 2011 at 6:30 pm.

DARE Graduation- Friday, January 28, 2011 at 1 pm in the SES Gym.  Everyone is invited to attend.

Quiz Bowl Practices- Due to a conflict with drama club practices, the quiz bowl practice schedule has been changed.  Practices will be held on the following Wednesdays: January 26, February 9, and February 16.  Please make appropriate changes to your calendars.  Remember that practices are until 3:00pm and a note must be sent to school indicating how your child will be getting home.

Beta Day – Saturday, January 29, 2011.

Super Bowl Pool- Please spread the word to friends and family, SES is selling Super Bowl Pools.  Please contact the office for information on how to purchase squares if this is not your fundraiser.

Scrip-  We are excited to announce that Target gift cards are now available in $25 and $100 increments with a 2% discount.  Scrip orders will be due on Mondays throughout the month of January.

The Year of St. Elizabeth- Elizabeth became a Franciscan tertiary, expressing her ardour in love of poverty, the relief of the sick, the poor, and the elderly through building and working in a hospital close to her very modest home.

Welcome Back-  We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year Holiday.  We would like to welcome everyone back.

Thank You- Mrs. Tina Landry would like to send a special Thank You to her SES Family for the support and prayers offered for her and her family in their time of need.

8th Grade Thank You- A great big 8th grade Thank You goes out to Ms. Scottie Brister and Mrs. Alison Viator for their help with the 8th grade Christmas play.  Their help in making our assembly program and the OK Corral props was appreciated and enjoyed by all!!!

St. Elizabeth School Early Learning Center PreK3 Program- Classes have begun.  There are still openings if anyone is interested in enrolling.  Children may enter on or after their 3rd birthday and remain in the program until eligible for PreK4.  Speech therapy, after-care, and a summer program are available.  Ms.  Jenna Ourso is the teacher.  She is assisted by Sr. Navya.  Call the office for more information.

Scrip Orders-  Scrip orders will be due on Mondays throughout the month of January.

Drama Club- Students in Drama Club will practice this week on Tuesday, January 11 and Thursday, January 13 for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.  All practices will end at 4pm unless otherwise announced.  Please send a permission slip to school allowing your child to stay for practices. You will receive a calendar for other practices until the play on April 2, 2011.  Parents are asked to schedule appointments around these dates since it is difficult to practice when cast members are missing.  Costume information will be sent home soon. 

Quiz Bowl- Diocese Quiz Bowl tryouts will be after school on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 until 2:30pm.  Please send a note indicating how your child will be getting home. 

 Box Tops- We recently received a check from Box Tops for Education for $803.30.  Great work everyone and keep sending in your box tops! 

Dow Grant- We would like to thank Dow Chemical for a $500.00 grant awarded to our school.  This helped to cover expenses for our new Early Learning Center.  Also, a special Thank You to Mrs. Heidi Mattingly for informing us about this grant to help our school.

Community Coffee-  We will be sending in Community Coffee labels at the end of January to be redeemed.  If you have any labels, please send them to school so that they can be sent off also.  We will continue collecting these labels throughout year. 

MagNet Rewards- We received a check for $730.00 from the magazine booklets that were turned in to school.  Thank you for your continued support.
