Yearbooks – Extra 2009-2010 yearbooks are available in the office.  The cost is $30.00.

Sodality Induction Friday, Sept. 3 – Everyone is invited to attend the induction of the new 7th grade sodalists after mass on Friday.

Labels, Box Tops, etc. – Since Open House, the response from you has been tremendous in regards to box tops, community coffee labels, printer cartridges, etc. Keep up the good work and Thank You!! Also, the coke rewards caps can be sent to school along with the other labels.

Cub Pride – SES car decals are available for $5.00. Send money in a sealed envelope with your child’s name and labeled “decal”.

Cafeteria Payments – Parents, Please write your child(ren)’s name and grade on the check when making a lunch payment.

Green Envelopes - Parents, Please make sure all money is in a labeled envelope with your child’s name when using the green envelope for payments.

Scrip – Scrip orders are due in the office on Tuesday mornings by 9am.  They can be picked up on Fridays.  Please see the order form to the right.

Snack Sale – Friday.  All items are 50 cents.

Quiz Bowl – Quiz Bowl forms are due September 1.

Tuition Assistance – Deadline for applications, September 1.

Labor Day Holiday – No classes on Monday, September 6.

St. Elizabeth Church Harvest Festival – T-shirt order forms are being sent home today.  These shirts can be worn for school spirit dress down days.

Fall Book Fair – September 20-24.

Full Day Inservice – No school for students on Wednesday, September 22.

Home & School Meeting - Thursday, September 23.

2nd Grade Parent Breakfast – Wednesday, September 29 beginning at 7am.

Option C – If you need updated paperwork with your child’s username and password for option c please contact the office.

School Pictures - School Picure Day has been changed to September 17, 2010.

Open House – Tonight 6pm for parents of 4th -8th graders and 7pm for parents for preK- 3rd graders.  Exhibits will be set up in the gym.  A general meeting will be held in the cafeteria, then parents will move to the classrooms.

Tuition Assistance - Contact the office if you would like to apply for financial assistance for the ’10-’ 11 school year.

Calendar – Check the  calendar on the website often.  Reminders can be sent to you by clicking on the event and entering your information.

Transportation – Parents please refer to the handbook regarding the policy for transportation changes.  The way your child is getting home can  be changed during the day in cases of emergency only.  Students cannot be checked out after 1:45 pm.

Welcome Back !!! We had a great first week of school and are excited about another super year for the SES school family!

Uniforms – Uniform checks were done today, please make sure that students come to school daily in correct uniforms. Boys shoes should be solid black and girls shoes solid white. Socks must cover the ankles.   Belts are to be worn with pants that have belt loops.  Students have until Labor Day to correct violations.

Handbook - Please read the new handbook  posted on the website.

Calendar – Check the calendar on the website often.  You are able to have reminders sent to your email with this new calendar.

Safety Procedures – We are asking everyone to pick up children in the car line at the front gate.  This will be the only gate open during dismissal.  Please do not walk to pick up your child(ren).  Also, children cannot be checked out after 1:45.  If you must check out early, make sure to do so before this time.

Accelerated Reader – Testing begins today.  Students will receive new point goals as soon as STAR testing is complete.

Snack Sale – Friday – all items 50 cents.

Girl’s Basketball – There will be a parent and player meeting on Wednesday, August 18th at 6:00pm.  At least one parent/guardian is expected to attend with their child.  Practice will be begin after the meeting at approximately 6:30 pm.

Folders -3rd, 4th, and 5th graders who did not purchase the school tool box have been issued a 10 pocket folder.  The cost is $3.oo, please send payment to the office in an envelope marked 10 pocket folder.  Thanks!

Scrip - Did you know that you can earn money toward your tuition just for making your everyday purchases?  That’s right many retailers sell gift cards to our school at a discount.  You pay face value for the gift cards and the discount is split 50/50 between the family and the school.  The families portion is placed in a special tuition account and credit is given toward the next year’s tuition.  Many families earned enough last year to have July and August tuition paid for. WOW!!! Consider participating in this program.  If you would like more information please call the office.  Orders are due in the office on Tuesday’s by 9:00am and are distributed on Friday.  Please see the link to the right to download the order form.

Aftercare Registration – Aftercare registration forms are being sent home with your child today.  Please fill out the form and return it to school if you have not done so already.  We need to have a registration on file for every student, even if they do not regularly attend aftercare, in case of emergencies.

Option C – Paperwork is being sent home with your child today in regards to each child’s option C account.  Please read over the info and make any corrections necessary and send back to school.  If you do not receive paperwork please notify the office.

Harvest Festival-St. Elizabeth Catholic Church is excited to announce the return of the Harvest Festival on Sunday, September 19, 2010.  Please see the flyer sent home with your child for all the exciting events planned.  We hope to see you there!

The Shurfine & Shurfresh label program has recently been reinstated.   SES school will be redeemed three cents for every label turned into our school.  Please turn in your Shurfine and Shurfresh labels to help out our school.

Sunny Delight is also sponsoring a program which can earn free books for our school.  Please turn in your Sunny D UPC labels.  For every 20 labels we turn in the school can earn 20 free books!

Cafeteria Makeover -The Cafeteria Staff would like to give a special Thank You to everyone who helped in the Cafeteria Makeover.  It looks wonderful.

Oil Well Information

SES has been in contact with the Assumption Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness and the Louisiana State Police in regards to the safety conditions. We have been told that the well will be ignited at 12 pm today. There are air quality monitors in place on our campus that have been assesssing air quality and will remain in place throughout the situation. Thus far, there have been no unhealthy readings. Please be assured that we are monitoring the situation and are being advised by OEP that there is no threat to this area.  We will give further updates if warranted at a later time.  School will remain is session as normal.

Welcome Back for the 2010-2011 School Year

We are all excited to be back for another great year at SES!

Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to get the school ready for the new year. The whole school has been pressure washed, the prayer garden has been weeded, and the cafeteria has had a makeover!

We will have many other opportunities for you to become involved. Please contact the office if you have a project that you would like to take on!

Please look through your children’s folders. There are many important forms that went home today. Please complete them and return to the office as soon as possible.

You are asked to read the handbook online, review with your children, and sign the form indicating that you have done so. Notice that there are some additions and clarifications to policies included in the newly formatted handbook.

The 2010-2011 SES calendar is posted on the website.  Please check it often.  Paper copies will not be sent home without a written request.  Notice that you may set up email reminders of events by clicking on the event.
