Class and Club Pictures – March 30 – Students must have proper uniforms to take pictures. They will not be allowed to call home.
March 31 Early Dismissal - Buses will be running at 11 am on March 31. There will be no aftercare on March 31.
Living Way of the Cross - April 1 – 8 am in church, presented by the 8th grade. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend. Spelling Bee will follow in the Science Lab.
Spelling Bee-Thursday, April 1 beginning after the Living Way of the Cross; approximately 9am. Everyone is invited to attend.
Creative Writing Contest – the awards for the creative writing contest will be presented after the spelling bee for each class.
Parents provide transportation -On Holy Thursday, April 1, there will be no bus transportation. Parents are responsible for getting students to and from school. There will be aftercare as usual.
Easter Holidays – There will be no school on Friday, April 2 and Monday, April 5 in observance of Easter. Classes resume on Tuesday, April 6.

SES Book Fair - Thanks to everyone, especially Ms. Celeste and her volunteers, the book fair was a huge success! Keep on reading!!!
Drama Production of “The Wizard of OZ” - Thanks to Ms. Diane, Ms. Lisa, cast, and dedicated volunteers! The play was awesome!!!
Fair Raffle Tickets – Each family is expected to sell one book of raffle tickets. For each additional book of tickets sold, the family will be entered in a drawing to win a limo ride to Bayouside Golf Course for lunch on May 5th.
Books, Burgers, and Bingo – Students receiving the required number of AR points for the 2nd and 3rd 9 weeks periods by May 12will be eligible to go on a field trip to the Assumption Parish Library for “Books”, Bayouside Golf Course for “Burgers”, and back to school for “Bingo” on May 17. AR testing will continue through May 14, but in order to be eligible for the trip, points must be received by May 12. We must have time to determine eligibility and get permission slips in order.
Community Coffee Coupons – Thanks to all who sent in the Community Coffee coupons. We received a check in the amount of $826.74 for coupons sent in. Ms. Celeste is already collecting for next year. Keep these coupons coming in.

Drama Production of “The Wizard of OZ” - Final preparations are being made for our spring production of “The Wizard of Oz” on Saturday March 27, 2010 at 7 p.m. in the S.E.S. gym. Please be advised of the following:
__ Practices for the Cast include Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
__ Practices for the kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd graders will be on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon from 2:15 until they have completed their part in the play. That will be at approximately 2:45 for Munchkins and 3:15 for dishes and flowers. Again, please send a permission stating whether they will be picked up or should go to aftercare.
__ Cast members and K,1,2,3 children are to be at school by 5:30 p.m. for pictures for the yearbook on Saturday.
__ Shrimp stew will be sold beginning at 6 p.m. for $3.00 per bowl.
__ Admission will be $3.00 for adults and $2.00 for children (not in the play.)
Lenten Folders-Friday is the last day for students to turn in their Lenten folders.

**Important Parent Reminders**
- Have students to school by the 7:30 bell, especially on mass days.
- Send a note if a child’s method of transportation is being changed. Only call the office with this information in cases of emergency.
- Call in if your child will not be at school.
- Come to the office for a pass before going to a classroom.
Parent Notification of Cancelled Practices – We will begin utilizing School Reach to notify parents on cell phones when sports practices are cancelled during the day. Please call the office if you would like a number other than the mother’s cell phone to be used for notification.
Dress Code -Please make sure that students are in correct uniform. Shoes must be either solid black or solid white. Light jackets and sweatshirts must be navy except for burgundy athletic sweatshirts for the upper grades that were purchased through school. Students must wear a belt if there are belt loops on the pants. Jumpers and skirts should be no shorter than 2 inches above the knee. Girls may wear pants through March 31.

Volleyball – Volleyball schedules were given to all volleyball players today. The concession assignments are included on the schedule as well. Please find a replacement if yo aren’t able to work on your assigned day.
5th grade volleyball shirts were dispersed to the players today.
The Saturday, April 24th game will need to be rescheduled due to a scheduling conflict with the Washington trip. More information will come later.

Student Absences – Please remember to call in to notify the office if your child is out sick. Thank you for helping us to insure the safety of your children.
Pee Wee Basketball- Thanks to Coach Hebert, Ms. Tina, Ms. Diane and the 8th grade parents who all worked together to continue this SES tradition.
