Carnival 2012 – Congratulations to the King and Queen Carmel and their Court: King Hayes Rousseau and Queen Kelsey Gros; 1st Duke Connor Ourso and 1st Maid Mylie Blanchard; 2nd Duke Andre Templet and 2nd Maid Danielle Giroir.

Thanks to everyone who participated and came to watch the festivities.  Due to time constraints, winners were not announced at carnival but students received their awards today.

Rice Bowl Collections begin today - Please return the Rice Bowls by March 30.

Wednesday:
                 Maroon (6th/7th) and Navy (6th) – 4 – 6 pm
                  Silver (8th) and White (7th) – 6 – 8 pm.
Thursday: Brown (5th) – 2:15 – 4 pm (bring a snack) in old gym
              Maroon (6th/7th) and Navy (6th) – 4 – 6 pm
Friday: Silver, White, Maroon, and Navy – 2:15 – 4:30 pm

Volleyball Jamboree Wednesday, February 29th:
Navy Team (6th) – 6 pm at ACHS (vs. Sacred Heart)
White Team (7th) – 6:45 pm at ACHS (vs. Sacred Heart)
Silver Team (8th) – 7:45 pm at ACHS (vs. Sacred Heart)

Baseball- Game Cancelled Friday, February 24 at 7:30 vs. Brusly in Port Allen.  Practice Thursday, February 23 from 2:00-4:30.   

Drama Practice-  Wednesday, February 22, Thursday, February 23, Monday, February 27, Tuesday, February 28 and Thursday March 1.  All practices are from 2-4.

Math-a-thon-  Pledge folders are due by Tuesday, February 28.  Please read the folders carefully.  St. Jude does wonderful work and has helped past and present SES students.

Bishop’s Visit – Bishop Muench will celebrate mass and visit with the student body, faculty, and staff of SES on Friday, February 24.  Everyone is invited to join us for mass at 8:35.  Please note the change in mass time.

Scrip Orders-  Scrip orders will resume on February 27.

ACRE Testing – 5th and 8th graders will take the ACRE religion assessment on February 28 during religion classes.  Please make every effort to have students attend.

Parent-Teacher Conferences – Wednesday, February 29.  Children will not attend school this day.  Parents will be notified by teachers who would like to meet.  Any parent who would like to meet should send a note to the child’s teacher by Thursday, February 16 to set up a conference .  Conferences will focus on areas of concern. Meetings will be held in the morning so that teachers may participate in professional development in the afternoon.

Box Tops for Education-The next BOX TOPS Submission will be on March 1, 2012! Please send in your Box Tops so we can meet this Deadline!!

Pee Wee Basketball – March 2.

Adult Lip Sync- DVD’s are available to purchase for $30.00.  The deadline to purchase is Friday March 2.

3rd 9 weeks exams – March 7 – Social Studies & English;  March 8 – Math & Religion;  March 9 – Science & Reading.

Accelerated Reader- Last day to test for the 3rd nine weeks is March 9.

Report Cards- March 14.

Spirit Dress Down Day- March 14

Raising Cane’s Night-March 14 at Thibodaux Raising Cane’s.  No homework night!

6th Grade Parent Breakfast-March 14 at 7am.  Parents are invited to join us in the prayer garden after breakfast.

Spring Book Fair – March 19-23.

Field Day- March 23.

Confetti Eggs-  Please save your eggs for confetti eggs for the fair.  You may begin sending the eggs to school.
