Thanks to everyone who supported the SES BCS Bowl Fundraiser.  Good luck tonight, Tiger fans!

Drama News- The Spring Production for the Drama club will be Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Playbooks have been ordered.  The cost is $6.00.  Tryouts will be January 12 until 5:00.

Scrip Orders-  Regular scrip will resume Tuesday, January 10.

Aftercare- Please contact the office if you need a statement of aftercare totals paid for 2011 for income taxes. 

Super Bowl Pools-  Please be sure to send back the board on time to give all families equal time to sell squares.  Please contact the school if you are interested in purchasing a square.  We have $10.00 and $100.00 squares available.

Report Cards- January 10.  Please sign and return.

SIT Committee Meeting –Postponed to  the January 17 school board meeting.

SES Athletics- Boys Basketball -January 11 -Home vs. ACHS 6th -6:00; 7th-6:45; 8th- 7:45.  January 12- 5th grade Home vs. St. George at 6:00; 8th vs. CHS - 6:45.  January 13-  Tournament at St. George 7th grade at 5:50;  January 14- at St. Louis 6th-9:45;  7th-10:45.

The 5 & 6th grade teams will have practice from 6:30 – 8 on Tuesday in the new gym.  The 7th grade team will practice on Tuesday from 6:30 – 7:30 in the old gym.
 Please check the Basketball Work Schedule.  If you are scheduled to work this week, please be at the community center at least 30 minutes prior to first game.  Workers scheduled to work concession stand/door, be prepared to stay until after the last game to help clean up.  There will be a sign in sheet located in the concession stand for workers that work the concession stand/door and a clean up checklist for after the last game.  The 5th and 6th grade players are required to buy their jerseys ($25).  If the jersey fees are not paid by the Friday, January 13, 2012, the player will not be allowed to play in games until the fees are paid.

Math Bee- January 12 beginning at 8 a.m. in the Community Center.  We will begin with first grade and continue with each successive grade.  Everyone is invited to attend.  The following students will participate in the Math Bee: 1st grade: Lani Alleman, Maddex Blanchard, Noah Deshotel, Ta’Niya Jacobs, Katie Jones, Lauren Larose, Annamarie Mabile, Lucie Ott, Braden Pujol, Whitney Simoneaux, Sara Soloman &  Olivia Vroon. 2nd Grade:  Peyton Barbera, Haley Castro, Logan Falsetta, Lindsey Gros, Sadie Jacobs, Abby Landry, Adley Mury, Sage Rivere, Austin Thibodeaux &  Alyse Walker.  3rd Grade: Cameron Aysen, Gabrielle Boudreaux, Jackson Bourgeois, Gage Breaux, Hagen Landry, Isabella Naquin, Sarah Ryland, Anna Thibodeaux, G. G Viator & Udell Worley.  4th Grade: Hunter Anderman, Abbey Aysen, Riley Barbier, Trey Jones, Hannah Landry, Keely Landry, Jacob LeBlanc, Matthew LeBlanc, Dylan Pennison & Analise Rowland.  Congratulations to all students.

Boys Basketball Pictures- January 12 from 2-3pm.

Snack Sale -Friday, January 13.  All items are 50 cents.

Martin Luther King Day Holiday- No school on January 16.

School Board Meeting – January 17 at 6:45 in the office.  Everyone is invited to attend.

Quiz Bowl- The next Morgan City competition is on Tuesday, January 17th at 12:15pm.  Students will eat lunch at school for 10:45 am and will be allowed to leave at 11:00am.  Students are not required to return to school after the competition.

Spirit Dress Down- Wednesday, January 18.  Students may wear a school spirit shirt or uniform shirt and jeans or uniform shorts and uniform socks and shoes.  Jeans must be worn at the waist and may not have holes.  Please see the SES student handbook for complete dress down day guidelines.

1st Grade Parent Breakfast- Wednesday, January 18 at 7am.  Parents are invited to join us for morning prayer in the Prayer Garden after Breakfast.

Social Studies Fair- January 19.

DARE Graduation – Friday, January 20 at 12:30 in the Community Center.  Everyone is invited to attend.

Spelling Bee - January 25. Grades 1-4 will participate in the Spelling Bee. Diocesan Quiz Bowl- February 4 at St. Aloyisus 8:00 am-1:00 pm.

Science Fair- has been changed to February 6 due to the Nicholls State Science Fair deadline.

SES In-House Registration – February 6-10.

Children’s Lip Sync – Date is still pending.

New Family Registration – February 13-17.

Confetti Eggs-  Please save your eggs for confetti eggs for the fair.  You may begin sending the eggs to school.
