Morning Drop off – Please make sure to arrive at the school drop off car line in enough time to reach the gates by 7:30.  A large number of students are arriving after the bell has rung already  (bell rings at 7:30).  Unfortunately, we will now require parents to park and sign each child in at the office if they are still in the car line at 7:30.  It is unavoidable on our part (and we really dislike having to do it) because school minutes are essential for accreditation.  A number of parents have complained that the morning  car drop off line is extremely long, but the problem actually begins between 7:20-7:30 and is almost non-existent between 7:05-7:20.  I have also noticed that quite a few parents are now not even getting into the car line (from Hwy 1 or St. Elizabeth Street) until 7:28 or 7:30. Please note we will closed the front gate now at 7:30 when the bell rings for school to begin.  All parents in line when the bell rings will need to park and enter the office with their children to receive a tardy slip. Please cooperate with us on this very difficult issue by arriving at school earlier each day if at all possible.  We are trying to accommodate you as best we can by accepting children from 6:45am and 7:30am at the front gates.  I pray that this message is received in the spirit in which I am providing it.

Scrip News– Beginning next week, we will only be making scrip orders every other week.  Orders will be placed on September 19 and every other week following.  Orders will still be taken on Mondays and sent home on Thursdays.  During the Christmas season, orders will be placed every week.

Car Line Clarification

Posted by Mollie Landry on August 23, 2016 under Uncategorized | Comments are off for this article

I apologize for creating confusion when I was describing the process to people unfamiliar with the tradition here at SES.

Morning drop off line is now, and has traditionally been, down St. Peter Street.  That remains the same.  It is fine to come down St. Peter in the morning because the line does not form until after the buses pass.

After school drop off car line is now, and has traditionally been, as illustrated in the map sent home and previously posted on weekly notes.  (Down Hwy 403, around the corner of St. Elizabeth St. and St. Peter and then in front of the school on Convent Street. )

Please note that morning drop off is beginning to form a line around 7:20 and often continues past the bell for the start of school.  Please note that our school bells are now accurate (they were previously off by 3 minutes), so consider dropping your children off earlier.  The line is very short or non-existent between 7:00 and 7:15.  We are blessed to have a number of new students here at SES and many little students who need to be buckled into or unbuckled from car seats.
